AEROSPACE ENGINEERING DEGREE LANCASHIRE & CUMBRIA

Take your ambition to new heights

Aerospace engineering is a fast-moving, high-impact industry with real-world applications that span the globe, much like the planes and rockets that they produce. From designing the aircraft and spacecraft of tomorrow to tackling the challenges of sustainable flight, it’s an exciting industry built on innovation and precision.

Blackpool and The Fylde College, an academic partner of the Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology, offers an apprenticeship degree in Aerospace Engineering, giving you the chance to study for a BEng (Hons) in Engineering (Aerospace) while gaining hands-on experience in the sector. Explore everything from propulsion systems and aerodynamics to avionics and systems integration, all whilst building the specialist knowledge and practical skills that top-rated employers are looking for.

Aerospace Engineering

What You’ll Learn in this Aerospace Engineer Degree

Your journey into aerospace engineering begins with a solid foundation in core engineering principles, mathematics and Computer-Aided Design (CAD). From there, you’ll progress into more advanced topics such as aircraft flight control systems, airframe mechanics, propulsion and aerodynamic performance.

At the same time, you’ll be developing crucial professional skills – like managing live engineering projects and working collaboratively across technical teams. At every stage, your learning will be grounded in real-world application, supported by expert tutors and industry-standard equipment in Blackpool & The Fylde College’s cutting-edge Advanced Technology Centre.

As you dive further into the programme, you’ll explore sustainability in aerospace and take on self-directed projects that reflect your interests and prepare you for the workplace. Guest speakers, industry field trips and placement opportunities further connect your studies with the fast-moving aerospace sector.
