Providing qualifications up to degree level, as well as apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 5, Preston College has earned an excellent reputation for developing confident, skilled individuals, who possess relevant industry experience, and the professional behaviours that employers highly value.
Our aim is to continue to shape our curriculum to ensure our students are well-prepared for further studies or employment opportunities. Committed to fostering partnerships with Lancashire businesses, we support individuals and employers in adapting to technological advancements, driving productivity and achieving success.
With a focus on innovation, social mobility and continuous improvement, Preston College provides the facilities and opportunities necessary for growth at every stage of a student’s career, transforming their lives through education, as well as contributing to our thriving local economy.
Preston College has used its IoT funding to create a series of high-tech, industry-led learning spaces that prepare students for careers in construction, digital design, advanced manufacturing and health. Each area is designed to reflect real working environments, giving learners practical experience with the same tools and technologies used across industry.
Across construction, digital, and health disciplines, Preston College’s IoT investment is not just transforming facilities — it’s building confidence, skills, and industry partnerships.
The college collaborates with Lancashire Constabulary on cybersecurity awareness training, engages construction and housing developers through its sector advisory boards, and works with companies like Corec to bring live commercial experience into the classroom.
“Our achievement rates in the Level 4 Site Supervisor course are 25% above the national average,” says Zac. “That’s not just down to teaching — it’s because students are using the same technologies and approaches they’ll find in the workplace. IoT investment has genuinely bridged the gap between college and career.”
